Hey JKey — many thanks for your reply. I had to actually come back to this page myself last week whilst setting up a brand new XP machine for MAME usage — Its just quick, reliable and downright decent. All the XP computers I have are not in any way connected to the net, so the lack of security updates does not affect me.
Windows 8 and 10 can go jump. So XP is the logical choice. Takes a few good seconds for pretty much all programs in XP not Windows 7 or others to start reading from HDD or writing to it for whatever — weird!
Maybe imperfect install, or is this just the way it works i. But it happens regardless of the file system type in my experience. Its literally a few seconds. It takes longer the bigger the disk as far as I can tell.
No biggy. Bit of googling i ended up here. I noticed more people in this comment section had the exact same issue. Well, I found a damn neat solution!
I will share it now in case more will come across this annoying hindrance. Change both to this number, but before write down your local code e. Once I reinserted my flash drive it instantly opened and transferring 7gb worth of files worked flawlessly.
Big thanks again for keeping the patch alive! Many thanks for the link. The ram part is fine, but none of my large thumb drives are recognized. I am thankful for this and do hope it will work for me. I still run Windows XP. Thanks for this. Your email address will not be published. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. I think you are out of luck because it is no longer available. Thanks plodr,i was hoping someone might have something on there computer ,or on a website that it could be downloaded. I remember when i upgraded to sp2 all Microsoft updates where discontinued but this one site had it.
But i forgot the site. I hope someone else will chime in to give me other news. Thanks for your help anyways. Here you go.
Eldon , Feb 24, Hi Eldon thanks for the website but i was there already and all the downloads are from microsoft. And as we know microsoft no longer supports XP. That is the reason i came to Mayor Geeks to see if you would have that update. I updated to sp4 from Mayor Geeks but that did not do the job.
But because the update has the hacker fix for windows i could download more updates from Microsoft. After downloading all updates from Microsoft the video card screwed up and i could barely see the screen. So i uninstalled the programs from Microsoft and i went to bed. I have XP sp3 but also need exFAT capability the 33 bit microsoft download says it will not install on my PC and I don't seen to be able to get my hands on an older copy the one you say works on your XP sp2.

So, how easy is it to perform this task?
