If it was me, I'd keep Vista, even if I was only going to dual boot or save it for later. As for the memory, at these prices, there's no reason NOT to upgrade. I'd say go for it, because all it takes is another earthquake in Taiwan to make these memory prices jump way back up again. I'd go 4 GB and run an x64 OS, if given the options, but again, to each his own. I'm assuming this is the case, since you have a quad-core processor.
