When you tap an object, the game tells you how long it will take to complete that action. As of 11th January, a glitch exists in the iPad version that you can use to cancel actions early — see our cheats guide if you want to know how to do this.
Oh, bad luck. But there is another way that might work. Currently there are only dogs in The Sims Freeplay. You start the game with a dog, and you can buy further dogs for LP once you have a pet store in your town. XP is experience points, and you gain them for completing any action at all even peeing yourself.
When you earn certain amounts of XP, your player level increases, unlocking new plants, baking recipes, workplaces, businesses, and the ability to add more Sims.

They will perform lots of idle actions — hand stands, flips, and general posing. At some point, they will begin to stride purposefully away from where you placed them. When they do this, tap on them immediately.
If they were going to go and try to interact with the other Sim, then as long as you tapped them before they reached the other Sim, the other Sim will immediately drop out of their action. If the action they were performing was to complete an objective, it will be completed.
If they were planting crops or baking, you will get all the XP and money as if it had been finished normally. The downside to using this glitch is that there is no guarantee about how long it will be before the idle Sim tries to interact with the Sim performing the action.
It could be less than a minute, or it could be several minutes. So, you do need a little patience to really take advantage of this glitch. Warning: this glitch only existed prior to the version 1.
If you have not updated your Freeplay to the newest version yet, and want to take advantage of this glitch, get as much LP as you want to have before you update. This glitch does not work in the 1. After demolishing the house, you can build a new one unless you have reached your town's current population cap.
Note that demolishing your home will completely erase that home and all of its items. If you want to keep your items, you will want to move them to your inventory first! Check to make sure that your Sim has a clear path to the object or location. Note: your Sim has a "side of the bed," just as many people do!
If they can't get into bed on their preferred side, they may refuse to go at all. Make sure there's room on both sides of the bed! To cancel an action, tap your selected Sim, then tap the X icon beside the task bar. Keep in mind that when actions are cancelled, no rewards are gained from the action and the cost of initiating the action is lost.

If all of your Sims in the current scene are already inspired, your Cupcake button will be deactivated greyed out to prevent you from accidentally purchasing a Cupcake when you don't need one! Wait for one of your Sims' needs to decrease for them to become uninspired, or make them kick a trash can at the front of the house to reduce their cleanliness until they are uninspired. This will activate the Cupcake button again. Seeds with the specially marked icon on them are genetically modified.
Planting genetically modified seeds can yield double the rewards or a nasty Sim-Eating Plant. Tap on the Sim-Eating Plant and choose the "Negotiate" action to get the active Sim to convince the plant to leave the premises. Recipes with the specially marked icon on them are organic.
Baking organic recipes is known for generating high returns; however, they have a chance to catch on fire once they're complete.
