The best way to use emojis in Windows 10 is with a keyboard shortcut. The text field can be in any program, like your internet browser, word processor, chat application, and so on. Begin typing immediately to search for a specific emoji, or use the category icons along the bottom. On those emojis that support it, you can switch skin color from the palette at the top.
This method worked extremely well in our tests. However, for some reason, Discord duplicated the emoji so that it appears twice from a single click, so note that some other applications might be glitchy too. First, you need to enable the touch keyboard. To do so, right-click the taskbar and select Show touch keyboard button if it isn't already checked.
This will place a keyboard icon within your taskbar's notification area. Click the keyboard icon and the touch keyboard will appear at the bottom of your screen. Note that, confusingly, this is different from the on-screen keyboard which can be enabled within Settings, which is useful if your keyboard doesn't have a numpad. With the touch keyboard open, click the smiling face icon to access all the emojis.
Use the icons along the bottom to switch emoji category, and you then scroll through the choice. Simply left click an emoji to use it. When browsing the people category, double-click it and you can change the skin tone.
You don't necessarily need to bring up either of these menus to use emojis on Windows You can copy and paste them too. Whether it's from an emoji website like Emojipedia , or from a message that your friend has sent you, you can copy and paste emojis just like you can with any other text. To practice open Mail, click New mail, place the cursor where you want the emoji. Now you need to use the Touch keyboard if not already on your taskbar then right click in the taskbar and from the menu click on Show touch keyboard.
Once on you taskbar click on it to open, when open click to 'undock' the small square next to the X to close this will reduce the size and allow you to move it around. Now click on the emoji icon on the bottom row and here are all the emojis, click on one and it will be placed where you placed the cursor in your email.
Not Ideal I know but at least you can put emojis in your Windows mail. When doing it for real you will need to reactivate the touch keyboard if you add an emoji and then carry on typing as it will go once you tap another key.
Did you activate the on-screen keyboard in Settings? It's worked on every Win10 PC I've tried it on, but if not for you I'd be interested to know what's different about your computer. Did the keyboard not show up, or did it show up but not let you choose emojis?
Hi, I've the same problem and following your instructions have the on screen keyboard but there is no key for 'emojis'. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question Report abuse.
